Over a century of life.
Grandma and great-grandma lived in this home for over a century, while running a small grocery store that still exists today, just a few steps away.
Great-grandma Angelina was known as "the Wet Nurse of the Cimini", because all the babies who could not be nursed by their own mothers were brought to her.
They shared one common trait: a contagious smile and the bright eyes of those who have always faced life with tenacity.

A new life.
Walking past and seeing it shut, empty, worn down by the years, was heartbreaking. The mind would drift, and you could almost still hear those voices, that laughter, that warmth in the air.
Restoring this home was like giving our family story a new life. We did it with great commitment, and above all with great love, so that Casa Checca could become a place where guests can spend wonderful moments, cooking again and gazing at that breathtaking panorama that grandma and great-grandma loved so dearly.
